The Swiss Society for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (STK) was founded in 1975. Members hail mainly from Switzerland, as well as from various European countries, and represent diverse industries (including chemicals, polymers, and particularly pharma) as well as universities and research/governmental institutions. Our members’ activities in thermal characterization span substances, formulations, and materials related to organic and inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, polymer chemistry, pharmacy, plant protection, and food science, to name but a few.

A core tenet of STK is fostering robust scientific discussions and exchanges among its members. The society provides a vibrant forum where researchers can share their findings, challenge existing paradigms, and collaborate on new ideas. This active dialogue is essential for advancing the fields of thermal analysis and calorimetry, translating fundamental research into practical applications, and driving innovation across various industries. Through annual meetings and other organized activities, STK facilitates this vital intellectual exchange, enabling continuous learning and professional growth for all its members.

The General Assembly of STK takes place once a year, generally during the annual meeting.
